GED

GED

The GED program provides educational opportunities for individuals wishing to improve basic skills in preparation for earning a State of Florida High School Diploma. Individualized and self-paced instruction allows students to proceed at their own rate of learning. Content includes reviews in English, mathematics, writing, social studies, science, literature and the arts. Sample tests, preparation and review are provided. The pretest serves as a predictor of performance on the GED test and indicates what areas the student may need to review before taking the Official GED Test.

For students between the ages of 16 and 22, our Administrator or a Coordinator must meet with the student to develop a plan for earning a diploma. Students under 18 must bring a parent/guardian to the meeting as well.

We are unable to provide services for students currently enrolled in any K-12 school. Students must properly withdraw prior to starting with Clearwater Adult Education Center.

Step 1: Register and pay $45 tuition
Step 2: Take CASAS Goals test in Reading and Math
Step 3: Review your test results with a GED teacher to determine a plan for you to earn your diploma.

GED classes are offered at the Arcturas Annex, SPC Clearwater classroom, SPC Tarpon Springs classroom, Oldsmar (Tues and Thurs evening only), and at Pinellas HOPE (for residents only).
